Arnold Schwarzenegger puts his Mercedes-Benz Unimog up for sale after replacing it with a Bugatti Veyron
Arnold ‘The Governator’ Schwarzenegger is a man who does it ‘large’. Aside from being built like a tank himself, this Austrian actor turned politician likes large cars and in putting his Mercedes-Benz Unimog up for sale and being spotted in a Bugatti Veyron this week, he showed his change in marital status hasn’t changed his tastes in how he likes to get around.
The former Governor of California paid £149,000 ($244,000) for his 12 mile to the gallon 1977 Unimog U1300 SE in 2012. The 6.4 litre diesel car has an engine that produces 320bhp and features 22-inch wheels fitted with Michelin XZL 445/65 tyres.
Fans of the movie star will be impressed to learnt that the four seat vehicle – which has just 1,300 miles on the odometer – has his signature on the dashboard. It also has high beam lighting, a reverse camera and an electronic winch. It is for sale with a guide price of £165,000 ($269,000) on the German website Mobile.
Schwarzenegger was spotted driving a £1.2 million ($2 million) open top Bugatti Veyron this week in Venice Beach. One has to ask: “Is this 67-year old having a midlife crisis?”
