Chris Huhne blames everyone but himself in an article for ‘The Guardian’
Disgraced politician Chris Huhne has again shown that he is not a reformed man in an article for The Guardian blaming the press for his recent prison sentence. He is wrong. The only person to blame for him and his ex-wife being sent down is himself.
Huhe has accused two newspapers of “targeting” him over his affair with Carina Trimingham and his lies about the story of his passing speeding points to his then wife, Vicky Pryce. Describing The Sunday Times as having “groomed” Pryce – presumably in the manner of a paeodophile – and the News of the World of “spark[ing] the end of [his] marriage”, this ludicrous man also claimed that a “new media aggression” has become “a problem for us all”.
In the article, Huhne argues for tougher legislation of the Murdoch press and refers to his ex-wife as a “burned contact”. The former MP is right in his concluding remark: “It is not only votes that make a democracy, but voices too” but again misses the key point. Tarnished voices such as his own are simply not worth listening to.
If Huhne had done the decent thing and conducted himself with dignity, he wouldn’t have got himself into this mighty mess. He should silence himself. It’ll be the only way he’ll speed himself way back to public acceptance.
