That Warner Brothers decided to use a song by the incarcerated paedophile Gary Glitter in their new film ‘Joker’ is utterly disgraceful suggests Matthew Steeples
“Public hate figure” Gary Glitter is a monster. There’s no doubt about that and given he was jailed in 1999 for downloading thousands of items of child porn, deported from Cambodia and jailed in Vietnam for obscene acts with minors in 2002 and 2006 and jailed for amongst other things having sex with a girl under the age of 13 in 2015, no right-minded person would want anything to do with him.
Now, with the release of the film Joker, which Vanity Fair has already described as “[too] sympathetic to white men who commit heinous crimes” – Glitter is again back in the news given one of his songs, ‘Rock and Roll Part 2,’ was shockingly used in a lengthy scene.
Outrage has rightly followed and of it, one Twitter user rightly remarked: “They’re literally paying a paedophile to use his music in a movie about the consequences of child abuse.”
Shame on Warner Brothers for helping make the jailed paedophile Gary Glitter even richer. An executive of that firm is responsible for the decision to include his song and on that basis we urge readers to boycott this irresponsibly orchestrated movie.

I cannot wait to see it!
Very well said Matthew.
The rights of his entire music catalogue, every damn song and album belonging to this evil specimen, should be ‘donated’ so every single penny is shared among the charities that work with abused Children.
This way, every time his music is played, or showcased in films like Joker, at least Gary ‘Perverted’ Glitter is indirectly being made to pay something back to those he so cruelly violated.
This utter piece of filth should have been left to rot in a Cambodian prision, rather than the luxury of a British institution. What this scum bag did to children is disgusting and he should never be released. I can’t believe WB would use any of his material in a movie. I can only think, they know not what they do. As for Gadd receiving any sort of remuneration for it is in comprehensible. He shouldn’t be receiving any royalties whatsoever while he’s doing time, and anything he is due should be forfeited and go to his victims.
Glitter should be souses in petrol.
