For a considerable period now The Steeple Times has lamented the failure of the Metropolitan Police to allocate ample resources to Operation Fernbridge and with the revelation that Lord Brittan was questioned regarding an unconnected alleged rape in the 1970s, we again urge the establishment to take historic abuse allegations against well known political figures seriously.
Lord Brittan has been widely named on the Internet over the years in connection with various allegations that have yet and may never even face the courts but according to the Mail on Sunday, he even took journalists aside over the years to deny accusations made against him.
Zac Goldsmith MP, Simon Danczuk MP and Tom Watson MP have been amongst those to demand probes into why key dossiers naming the political figures who allegedly committed abuse disappeared. It’s time the likes of David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Theresa May manned up: They must give Operation Fernbridge the resources it requires and realise that the truth about politicians and abuse will eventually out.
