Oliver Estreich perfectly sums up Anna Wintour’s gathering of the brazen and the not so bashful
On Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Anna Wintour ‘curated’ her annual gathering of the brazen and the not so bashful and themed it Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology.
The best summing up of the 2016 Met Gala guest list came in the form of a quote, posted on Facebook, by the observer and Native Society founder Oliver Estreich. He stated:
“99% of the 1% most annoying people on earth are located in one museum right now”.
The ‘most loathed man in Britain right now’ Sir Philip Green did not feature in pictures shared by the media in spite of having allegedly paid £170,000 for a table for ten but of those present, here below we share images of the most cringeworthy collection that did bother to show up. What a gaggle.

I used to respect Anna Wintour and would even have joined those who called for her to have been made a Dame but given she includes the Kardashian-Jenners on her invite list, I now rescind my previous thoughts.
They’re hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (As Paris Hilton would say)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But where was she??????
Sir Philip Green should be stripped of his title. In fact, I say: Orf with his head.
Anna Wintour looks stonking for her age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But ‘Grimes’: Who is she?????? She looks proper grimy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yet again Steeples Times fails to prioritise the important matter of dear Gerry and Kate McCann’s beloved daughter Madeleine’s kidnapping. In featuring the vain and the wealthy who have done nothing to support the Find Madeleine campaign you again bring shame on your house. Do the right thing and support FIND MADELEINE, FIND HER NOW.
You really do have the trotts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BAN GILLIAN TROTT, BAN HER NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I second that, time for Trott to trot off back to the lunatic asylum and stay there!
What, no Paris Hilton?
Poor darling, she must have overslept.
The Club gathered in New York but it looks like their Numero Uno Queens didn’t make it. Where was Sir Elton John and his titleless companion David Furnish? And the question that must be asked is: “Were they bathing in olive oil?”
Perhaps Sir Philip requested a super-injunction on pictures of himself!
Great comment by Oliver Estreich! Incidentally I dislike “Mr” Green intensely but as a matter of interest why is he regarded as the most loathed man in Britain?Any particular reason other than he is so obnoxious and hangs around with people as ghastly as himself like Cowell ?
The obvious reason he is the most loathed is that he looks like the living incarnation of Michael Winner, which is surely reason enough.
Yes I see what you mean Facey, sort of like “Calm down dear, it was only British Home Stores”
Like countless others, I liked Michael Winner and enjoyed his WINNER’S DINNERS in the Sunday Times.I have no idea what talents Miss Romford might have, but I feel sure Winner’s talents far exceeded hers He probably gave more pleasure to others too.
