‘Diana’ looks set to take the title of “Clanger of the Year”

 

Films based on the lives of the royal family rarely work. The trailer of the latest, Diana, starring Naomi Watts proves this point perfectly.

In it, the focus is on the doomed relationship between the Princess of Wales and Dr Hasnat Khan. Scenes showing Diana running down Bond Street to escape cameras and embracing the surgeon on a beach are just tasteless and unnecessary. The film should, in fact, be canned.

 

Diana premieres on 10th October 2013. We will not be watching.
