‘Britain’s vainest’ man Sam Barton set to declare himself bankrupt aged just 22
Beauty and brains don’t always go together and in the case of ‘Britain’s vainest man’ Sam Barton, wasting £100,000 in an attempt to become a replica of The Only Way is Essex’s Joey Essex is proof enough that some people are blessed with neither.
Barton, a barman from Sutton Coldfield, told the Birmingham Mail:
“I’ve been absolutely crazy with money since I was 18 but especially in the last two years when I’ve just simply had the time of my life. I never thought of how much anything cost – if I wanted something, I bought it”.
“I’ve spent around £55,000 trying to improve my looks and get the perfect image. The rest I’ve spent on designer clothes, jewellery, holidays, spa treatment and champagne”.
“In total, I have spent around £100,000. At one point I counted 15 credit cards and store cards. I would get a store card, take a friend into the shop who would spend on the card and then give me the cash. That happened on a number of occasions”.
“I would always ensure I had hard cash in my wallet, even if it meant taking another store card to the limit. I have spent £2,000 in one night on champagne while out with friends, buying bottles of champagne at £300 a time”.
“I’m in debt but have no regrets. I’m young and I am having the time of my life. Debt doesn’t really worry me. I am in a lot of debt but have been advised to wipe the debt out and just start again afresh. My mother won’t be happy as she believes you should pay your debts back. But if I’m able to clear my debts by declaring myself bankrupt, then I’ll do that”.
This irresponsible 22-year old is indicative of all that is wrong about Britain. We make Sam Barton our most worthy first Wally of the Week of 2015.

What a fucking idiot, I have met so many kids like him who don’t care that they have spent £30,000-50,000 and as in this case £70,000-100,000 but can’t pay it back. They don’t give a fuck, they simply spend, spend, spend and always think it’s someone else’s problem, they nearly always (99% of the time) live with their parents and even when bankrupt still have the latest gadgets, phones, designer clothes and still go out to party every week!
I know because I used to be a debt collector, the families and people who owed money on trivial things were nearly always ashamed they were in any sort of debt and always had respect for the job I had to do! But if I had to deal with these immature, ridiculous, pathetic chavs, they were all the same.
They didn’t care, they would answer the door looking like this top hat and would have the latest phone, more often newer than anything I had and would just stand there arguing that “it’s not fair” or “well I ain’t go it what you gonna do” attitude!
It’s a joke and makes a mockery of those that are trying to pay or do pay! Where do you think the banks and credit card companies make up for their losses on dickheads like him? .. Yes, off you lot, the people who do pay it back.
It shouldn’t matter how long it takes them to pay it back they should have to pay it, at 20 he has a good 45-50 years working life ahead of him and the little shit should be made to pay it even if bit takes 40 years.
I have never heard of anything so stupid as to allow kids to run up so much credit without leaving a footprint and these credit companies still giving them more and more not to allow him to declare himself bankrupt and walk away from the debt! … Has anyone tried getting credit or a mortgage lately? With a 26yr credit history and mortgage I would still be refused credit and have been for a simple phone contract, yet this waste of space would probably still be offered on next week! … Yet I have never missed a mortgage payment, pay all my bills, don’t go on credit funded holiday or clothes shopping!
I love how he then says he is committing fraud by letting his mates spend on his store card, then takes the money off them to go out and have money in his pocket! And I paricularly like how he only has mates when he has £2,000 to take them out with and buying £300 bottles of champagne!

He isnt bankrupt this is just another way to get into the likes of crap papers like the daily mail. I hate this sad culture we are now in where everyone and anybody is deemed a celebrity. Waste of space.
What a chump. He clearly wasted a lot of money trying to look good. Guess who’s going to be paying back his £100,000 bill for his celebrity lifestyle, expensive champagne, designer apparel (which I’m sure he’ll get to keep) and luxury holidays? Plus more in the future when he’s allowed to do it all again? Us. Who’s the idiot here? That said, karma can be a bitch, I hope his payback is fitting.
