Cougar Monica Porter is a woman who needs to act her age
We’ve nothing against older women dating younger men and Joanna Lumley recently portrayed a fine example in her kiss with Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street. In recent weeks, however, the Mail Online have featured a tawdry cougar named Monica Porter and we simply had to make her our Wally of the Week.
Ms Porter, 61, is a divorcee and grandmother of two who has written a book named My Year Of Dating Dangerously. In it she raunchily describes her sexual adventures with fifteen mainly younger men in a manner that many viewed to be “cheap, tacky and demeaning”. In the wake of a Mail on Sunday interview prior to the publication of the book, some described her as “easy” and lowbrow whilst others celebrated her as “refreshing” and “admirable”.
Passages from the interview itself helped me make up my mind. An example extract reads:
“He was waiting for me in my local London pub, The Bells, in his tight jeans, T-shirt and trainers, looking a little apprehensive. He offered to buy me a drink but that didn’t seem right, so I went to the bar and got my own glass of wine.”
“As he warmed to our conversation about his work (in accountancy) and his family (from Lancaster), and I told him something of my own life, his shyness began to fade and he smiled more”.
“… I could see the attraction for him of the older woman; he didn’t have to spell it out. We strolled back to my place. I wondered what the next step in this unfamiliar scenario might be. ‘What would you like to do now?’ I asked, not meeting his eyes. ‘We’ll do whatever you want to do,’ he said”.
“Many would say the age gap between us was absurd, but I don’t think either of us thought about it for a second. And I found his healthy, strong body very appealing. He stayed over that night and fell asleep with his head nestling on my shoulder. And the next morning he left. “From then on we saw one another every three weeks or so. I always called him Pup and he generally referred to me as Miss. I loved the vaguely Benny Hill sauciness of it”.
Monica Porter is supposedly still single and whilst one of her lovers appeared in this weekend’s Mail on Sunday singing her praises, I once again can see exactly why this ought to long remain the case.

She’s probably just cashing in on 50 Shades soft porn. Not my cup of tea, but why not?
if there are people out there who buy and read crap books like this, so she is just doing business to exploit the thirst for tackiness and depravation of some audience, not to be condoned, but apparently and sadly that kind sells ..
If HE was in his 60’s and SHE was in her 20’s you would’nt bother with this……..Who cares..? Good luck to her !
Guys in their 60 s don’t seem to write saucy lurid books about their younger lovers ,whatever the age gap, they just pay , and enjoy the deal. The rules of the game are set.
NABAKOV………………etc.etc.etc.
The granny fanny syndrome has never appealed to me, even the thought dampers my appetite for good cuisine, . I think Wayne Rooney and the footballers were into this kind nonsense? It is blatant open debauchery.
Sorry not my kind of bag. 50 Shades of Grey is a bad read, perhaps we can sue the publishers.
