Knightsbridge garage offered for the same price as an 18th century house on Orkney
A single car parking space underneath Kingston House South in Ennismore Gardens in Knightsbridge has gone on sale for £145,000 or £1,133 per square foot – the same price as a £105 per square foot B-listed 18th century house in Kirkwall, Orkney.
Just 128 square foot in size and measuring 16 foot by 8 foot the space is offered on a lease of 124 years by Hobart Slater and is subject to a service charge of £522.69 per year. It is described as occupying a “convenient corner position”.
For the same sum, in the centre of Kirkwall, Orkney, a renovated 1,377 square foot semi-detached four bedroom, two bathroom house could be yours. It comes with a shared courtyard to the front but lacks a parking space.

Bulldozer required on Orkney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Send in my wrecking ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone’s having a laugh in Knightsbridge. It isn’t big enough for a Range Rover let alone my Bentley.
There is a fortune to be made right here for the nimble lateral thinker
All one needs is front and creativity – ‘ like ‘ fracking London if you like
Can you sublet the car parking space? You could charge 10 top end motorcycle owners a grand a year for safe parking and get a 8.3 per cent return on your investment.
I wasn’t actually being serious but now I think about it, more realistically you could fit 6 motorcycles in that space and charge them £4 a day which would give you a return of over 6 per cent. Plenty of people would pay that for safe parking of a £15-£25k machine.Good little earner if you were allowed to sub let it.
