“The ultimate beach houses for 21st century living” for sale
Many dream of living by the sea and waking up to the lap of the waves and now, on Margate’s seafront, a row of eleven newly completed contemporary beach houses offer buyers a truly perfect opportunity to buy a permanent or holiday home.
Designed by the architect Guy Holloway, the four two bedroom houses still on offer are built over two floors and are clad in waterproof rubber overlaid with larch. Described as being “as maintenance free as possible”, each has an open plan ground floor leading to a decked terrace and a first floor master bedroom with a second terrace.
The properties are situated within the ground of the former Royal Sea Bathing Hospital and close to the Turner Contemporary gallery.
Agents The Modern House seek £485,000 ($597,000 or €540,000) for each of the 860 square foot leasehold properties.
These are horrendous. Even if you were daft enough to want one as a weekend home on the beach (and I’d like to think no-one in MY social matrix would), to pay half a million quid for one? Am I missing something here?
Where’s Rod and his ruddy wrecking ball the one time we need him?
What on earth is a ‘social matrix’?
Why cannot people express themselves without affection? You mean in your social circle, I assume?
Margate?! Are you pulling my plonker.
