Parliament’s decision to recall Rupert Murdoch is just ludicrous
Parliament’s culture select committee has decided to recall Rupert Murdoch after revelations that he regretted co-operating in the inquiry into phone hacking. Frankly, this is just ludicrous and yet another fine example of pandering to the populist.
Murdoch may have said a few controversial things whilst recorded covertly but do this bunch of foolish MPs not realise that they should be focusing on others?
Piers Morgan’s tenure at The Mirror wasn’t without incident and Alan Rusbridger’s Guardian is hardly innocent either. Murdoch is an easy scapegoat and the Citizen Kane figure of our times, but come on, isn’t it time that this populist caravan moved on?

Commons Speaker John Bercow claims £96000 in travel and accommodation expenses over a period of three years. The taxpayers foots the bill for his childcare expenses. The decision to recall Murdoch to appear before the Parliaments culture select committee is a diversion ploy, it is a maneuver that draws attention away from other unpopular issues and unfinished investigations. Rupert Murdoch is a man with broad shoulders and will stand his ground against our current crop of spineless politicians. I was born during the night, but it was not last night.
Bercow is a nasty character and should be removed from office ASAP. He was given the job by the last pathetic Labour government as an irritant to the Conservatives knowing full well how they despised him. His wife is equally unpleasant and between them they do nothing to promote Parliament and its workings. They are a disgrace and an embarrassment and lend little to promote this valuable office. Think how Betty Boothroyde conducted herself during her tenure. Send them to the Tower!!!
