The most pointless invention in history has to be the car alarm

 

Car alarms have to be the most annoying and pointless inventions ever created.

 

The blight on society that is the car alarm should outlawed
The blight on society that is the car alarm should outlawed

They go off randomly (usually in the middle of the night), they’re ignored by passers-by and worse still, they never work when your car is actually being targeted by criminals.

 

The car alarm is a nuisance society could do without. They should be outlawed.
