Cliff Richard bores on about gay rumours and rockstar wreckers
Sir Cliff Richard OBE is a man of mystery. Rumours about his sexuality and other areas of his life abound on the Internet and in an interview for an Australian television channel last Friday, he again tried to dispel them.
73-year old Sir Cliff, who is no longer a resident of United Kingdom, used the programme to talk about using Botox and announce the following:
“If I was gay would it make any difference? It doesn’t really matter to me any more. I have got gay friends. Most people have gay friends. If I was gay would it make any difference? Would you not come to my concerts because I was gay? I hope not”.
He added:
“‘I’ve never wanted to trash a hotel room. My band always used to say, Cliff never trashes a hotel room. When he goes in, he usually cleans up, hoovers, checks the curtains are straight. I can’t imagine anything more childish than trashing things, which is what a lot of rockers did”.
Sir Cliff is entitled to his opinions but frankly we much prefer the real rockers. Long live the antics of Sir Mick Jagger, Led Zeppelin and Keith Moon.

The Elm Guest House. I needn’t say any more.
Cliff Richard performed a one night only gig at the Sun City Superbowl in 1981. Sir Cliff was best mates with a British born South African singer and broadcaster Richard Loring. Richard Loring was a well known cast member of the South African version of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”
Richard Loring travelled to London to work on new material with Sir Cliff in the studios. I never heard anything about it, I suppose nothing came from it. I met them both at Sun City. Sir Cliff Richard came across as very pleasant man and of good character. I find it very hard to believe the above allegation, I will give Cliff Richard the benefit of the doubt until concrete evidence can be produced.
Keith Moon taught Gary Glitter everything he knew. The Zeppelin team were into satanism and putting all manner of creatures in underage groupies.
I wonder why people who are given a sir title or an OBE or CBE and are then exiting GB presumably to avoid paying tax , are allowed to keep the peerage or merit order ?
The titles or distinctions should be revoked . I don’t know Richard s particular circumstances and I guess he would fall in this lot
I’d check out Richard’s particular circumstances before worrying about tax avoidance.
But Mrs Chase…..do you nit think you are boring?
