Max Clifford’s suggestion that Jimmy Savile is to blame for the case against him is without justification
After appearing at Southwark Crown Court today, Max Clifford announced: “But for Jimmy Savile I wouldn’t be here”. He is wrong.
Mr Clifford was arrested because of the allegations of seven teenagers and though arrested originally by officers working on Operation Yewtree, the charges are not connected to the investigation into Jimmy Savile. His suggestion to the contrary is simply nonsense.
Max Clifford has a habit of twisting the truth on behalf of his clients and in a covertly recorded interview once stated:
“I create a false image. I’m deceiving people, I’m lying, for sure… I’ve got all the evidence. I’m the one who’s hidden it from the world. I know where everything is and where the evidence… the proof is. Ten, twenty, thirty years go by and no one in the world knows”.
Whether he is found innocent or guilty, Mr Clifford would do well to learn one thing from this: The truth (nearly) always outs.

The Jimmy Savile saga opened a can of worms and paved the way for victims of sex abuse to come forward and be taken seriously by the general public, smearing tactics that was very effective in the past, became ineffective. Max Clifford knows too much about too many people. The old fox is not having sleepless nights. He knows that he is untouchable. The National Press have been very kind to Max, Marge.
I don’t think the article is in any way potential prejudicial to a fair trial….no is it in the least condemnatory.
It is merely a recounting of what this odious piece of work believes in.
Any attack on Max Clifford is pure envy at his success and charm. In my view, the failure is with the upbringing of young people, then and now, who dress and act provocatively pretending to be older and willing to do anything for celebrities.
Are you seriously suggesting that old men who assault girls can excuse what they did because some silly, immature girl pretended to be older than they were? As for being a celebrity…that to most of us is a term of abuse.
You admire his success built on his ability to operate at the unpleasant margins of muckraking and you think his greasy and seedy charm appealing: that says much about you and your values. What a very odd woman you are…..
