Gerry and Kate McCann rake in £773,600 of private money in spite of admitting there is “nothing much to report” 14 years into the fast approaching £13 million public funded investigation into the dubious ‘disappearance’ of their daughter Madeleine
Not content with having garnered over £12.5 million in public funding for the police investigation with a further £300,000 top-up likely to come soon, it has this week been revealed that Gerry and Kate McCann’s privately administered fund now has an astonishing net worth of £773,629.
Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned Ltd. – which counts controversial double glazing tycoon Brian Kennedy, a man whom once bizarrely claimed he “had visions of flying in by helicopter to rescue Madeleine,” amongst its directors since 16th May 2007 – is listed as having £235,900 in cash and £245,000 in assets in newly released accounts.
Whilst last week, Dr and Mrs McCann told the Mirror that they “still believe in miracles,” in a post on the ‘Official Find Madeleine Campaign’ Facebook page the particularly pugnacious pair also had to admit of the investigation: “Nothing much to report.”
Previously, a ‘friend’ (‘unnamed,’ of course, as is so often the case with anyone speaking on behalf of those close to the case of missing Madeleine McCann) of Dr and Mrs McCann remarked:
“Kate and Gerry know the police investigation cannot go on forever.”
“When [the police investigation] is shelved, and if there is no result, Kate and Gerry will use money in the fund to continue the hunt.”
“That is what it is there for. They paid for their own team of private investigators initially and when the official inquiry ends they will do so again although in the past it has proven to be extremely costly.”
Today, again, we ask: “Why does so much public money continue to be wasted on an investigation that has achieved nothing in 14 years and why is another £300,000 about to be given from the public purse when other missing person searches get little to nothing? Why is this disproportionate allocation of taxpayer funded resources allowed to go on?”
This is outrageous.

Why should anyone feel shame for not supporting dear Gerry and Kate McCann in their efforts to find their beloved daughter Madeline with that kind of bullish attitide?
Little wonder that case this has not been solved in 14 years despite a £13 million public funded investigation. No amount of public funded money can guarantee the return of a missing child, let alone the safe return of that child, yet we live in a culture where some people feel that public funded money eases their pain because it gives them a sense of hope. I hope to win the lottery but am I guaranteed to win it? Of course not. One can hope without it costing me, you or the tax-payer a single penny let alone £13 million and there is no shame in that.
This case is very deep why were the Mcanns in Ireland a few days before going to Portugal ? They stayed in a family pub which was mysteriously burned down! A little girl of exactly the same age disappeared at the same time as the Mcanns were there . What the hell went on there ???

Madeleine McCann’s parents are only doing what one would expect – Keeping alive hope to find their daughter who was so despicably taken from them by an evil person, likely Christian Brueckner. The conspiracy theorists amongst will no doubt blame Gerry and Kate but this is quite ridiculous. They were just parents on holiday and they have been so horribly defamed by so many over the years. All they want is their daughter back. Do the right thing and support not be critical.

I am sorry but who would go out every night for a week to have dinner and drink wine and leave children of that age alone in a room that was on the ground floor, they would have been better putting a banner on the window saying my children are by themselves help yourself. I have 2 daughters and never in my life have I left them alone. I do not know what kind of hold these people have, but I know for a fact if I I had left my 2 girls in a room by themselves I would be in prison. Madeleine McCann died in the apartment. Cadaver dogs knew that and everyone with half a brain knew that. Blood spatter, sense of death in the cupboard. Etc. Etc.
I agree but just wouldn’t be so quick to say it because 1) I wasn’t there to see the actual lay out and distance and view they had 2) apparently the entire group thought it was ok so maybe it didn’t feel as irresponsible as it sounds 3) they’ve gone through enough hell so throwing out biased judgements do nothing for anyone.
