Mr Gus Instinct calls for Britain to wake up and respect itself once more
Here we are in mid August in what used to be Great Britain enjoying what should be one of the great English summers but instead most of the roads of the south of England were closed to allow a procession of lycra-clad, over testosteroned cyclists to close roads and create havoc while the world falls apart. Nero would have approved.
Separately, the Middle East has once again become a disgraceful melting pot of religious ne’er do wells causing problems that we are expected to help sort out. Meanwhile in Knightsbridge, it’s chaos as – without a care in the world – wealthy Arabs parade up and down Sloane Street rather than actually going back to their own mother countries and actually helping to sort it all out. A ‘Ramadan Rush’ to Gucci in a Lamborghini, to them, is more important than long-term political stability.
We, ourselves, as a nation remain more focused on political and metaphorical recycling rather than nominating a leader who can actually focus on us and say ‘no’. The ‘no word’ is terrifying for politicians and parents alike but nowadays it is all about trying to please everybody else and line ones own pocket (house prices are the uppermost fear) so we rely on the BBC to transmit utter rubbish at our expense while we privately cogitate what might have been before we had to suck up to everyone else. What on earth is the point of David Cameron and his Labrador Nick Clegg?
Mr Gus Instinct sees an opportunity for a leader with no fear who can try to reestablish a nation state, see off the inept Scottish bid for independence, dismiss the Eurozone and concentrate on Great Britain once more. Bring it on: This country needs Boris Johnson.

Trust and serve our Lord Monty Python and reinforce capital and corporal punishment, will be a good start….
Who is this chap Gus Instinct? His scribblings remind me of some pretentious politics student from a third rate provincial university.
The idea of a buffoon like Johnson leading our once great country up onto the sunlit uplands is so patently risible and absurd that only a donkey like Gus could come up with it.
Johnson is a political weathervane. He has no deeply held convictions and blows in whatever direction he thinks expedient.
And his tedious attempt to play the eccentric Englishman are just so wearisome: particularly as he is far more Turkish than English.
Oh, and yes, dear Gus….that is why he is so keen to allow Turkey into the EU!
