As singer Tulisa hits out at her conviction for assault, we urge her instead to learn to respect the justice system
Tulisa Contostavlos is best known for trashy tracks about “living on the edge of life” and has also sung lines such as: “Forgive us for what we’ve done, cause we young, we young, we young”. Today, though, this lippy singer didn’t show any desire to express remorse for her conviction for the assault of a blogger and instead angrily expressed her “outrage” outside Stratford Magistrates’ Court.
Announcing she will appeal after being found guilty on one count of assault and fined £200 in addition to £2,700 in prosecution costs, £100 compensation and a £20 victim surcharge, Contostavlos stated:
“This has been a rollercoaster week for me. I never wanted any of this”.
“I did not assault Vas J Morgan and I am outraged at this decision – I will be appealing it”.
“There are a number of high profile witnesses who were there and know what happened. I urge them to come forward and tell the truth at the appeal”.
“I am determined to clear my name as I have already done once this week”.
“I repeat: I did not assault Vas J Morgan. I am innocent”.
Contostavlos, it transpires, had hit blogger Savvas Morgan in the face at the V Festival last year after Morgan had published a sex tape of her online in 2012.
In a statement following Contostavlos’ conviction, Sarah Asbrey of the Crown Prosecution in the East of England said:
“It was clear from the evidence that Ms Contostavlos held a grudge against Mr Morgan for previous comments he had made about her on his blog including a link to her sex tape. When she saw him at the festival there was an argument between them, which resulted in her assaulting Morgan. The outcome of this case shows that no-one is above the law”.
Earlier in the week, Contostavlos’ trial for supplying class A drugs collapsed at Southwark Crown Court. At the time she stated:
“This case only happened because The Sun on Sunday, Mahmood and his team tricked me into believing I was auditioning for a major movie role. They targeted me at a time when things were going badly for me and they had no mercy. Mahmood got me and my team completely intoxicated and persuaded me to act the part of a bad, rough ghetto girl… I will use these experiences to make me stronger”.
Arrogant Tulisa Contostavlos appears to have learnt nothing from her court appearances this week. This loudmouthed 26-year old would do well to apologise to Vas J Morgan and equally ought to develop some respect for the justice system.

yes indeed, sadly she is very self righteous…
Tulisa at least kept her nickers on, a vast improvement in behavior for this notorious slapper and close friend of Simon Cowell. Why have respect for the justice system? Tulisa probably knows the judge….
How about the press also accepting responsibility for goading her as the press paps usually do ? Not saying Tulisa is right but unless you have had to deal with the tricky , conniving , cunning press reporters who will do anything for a story I don’t blame her entirely.
No joint enterprise here Ha ha !
She made the sex tape. What did she expect? She could have done a Paris Hilton and made money out of it… Oh, I forgot, she has… The tape made her more famous. No excuses: Tulisa is a tramp who loves wonga.
Tulisa trial for supplying Class A drugs collapsed at Southwark Crown Court. The £3100 cost of being found guilty of common assault is beyond a joke. Somebody up in the justice system likes her…… Sorry, I meant she must keep her knickers on………….. The press is irrelevant in this matter. £200 fine for a millionaire, we are talking tough justice…..
A Latin motto that might be of interest to Ms Contostavlos ‘ Turpe Nescrire ‘
Sorry………Nescire………. ‘.mea cullpa ‘ MEJ
Culpa ….yet
This woman is a tedious, chip-on-the-shoulder, low-life. I cannot believe that the BBC TODAY programme aired her vapid, clichéd rubbish this morning. It makes me rather annoyed at such focus on this dreadful slapper, when I see bright, underprivileged, talented, young people whose honourable and deserved success goes unremarked by the media. She, single-handed, increases the sale of sick-bags. Pass one, please, Alice.
It is such a shame, Tulisa is the splitting image of Lena Zavaroni of “Mamma he is making eyes at me”fame. Lena had long bobby socks and all. Tulisa must take a leaf out of Lena’s book. Tulisa is a pretty girl too.
