Member of Parliament Sarah Wollaston should resign
Our Wally of the Week is a Member of Parliament named Dr Sarah Wollaston. This maliciously reckless woman is amongst those responsible for having ensured our contributor Nigel Evans was wrongly brought to trial by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Wollaston, who penned an article titled “Why am I being blamed for Nigel Evans sex case?” in today’s The Telegraph, is typical of the political classes. She is an individual incapable of apologising. In the feature, she stated:
“This process was never going to be easy. But I have been truly shocked by the rank hostility since Mr Evans’s acquittal”.
Here is a woman who has helped cost Nigel Evans his career and £130,000 in legal fees. Of her, Dan Hodges, a “former Labour Party and GMB trade union official”, also wrote in today’s The Telgraph:
““Was I right to listen to the complainants and pass on their allegations?’ she asks. Yes. But there are two other important questions Dr Wollaston needs to ask herself. If neither victim viewed the matter as serious enough to be brought to the attention of the police – but wanted Nigel Evans ‘disciplined’ – why did that not raise alarm bells about the veracity of the allegations? And secondly, if the allegations were so serious, why did Dr Wollaston try to raise them with John Bercow?”
It is time that Woolaston did the decent thing: The only thing she needs to do is to resign.

I am afraid that I find dr wollaston’s account of her actions quite convincing and correct. Were in the midst of the most appalling scandals of sexual abuse and to stand by and do nothing is wrong and unacceptable. She has done exactly the right thing – well done her.
Broadly agree. She seems to have acted straightforwardly. I have expressed my doubts about her dodgy open selection, and her posing as a non politico, but it looks to me that she sought justice. Whether justice was obtained by Evans not claiming for legal aid, and not being found Guilty is not her affair.
Perhaps Nigel Evans should sue this silly bitch for his legal expenses……………….!?
Perhaps Jackthelad might consider how he would feel if he were called by a sexist epithet such as wanker or dogbotherer. Calling an MP, especially an MP who has served with such distinction as Sarah Wollaston, MP, is unacceptable in any forum.
jackthelad might consider himself less of a lad and write with more respect.
FWIW I would never vote Tory so praise of a former Tory by me is praise indeed.
