Described as being “born to make soup”, Ena Baxter was anything but a “sweet old dear pottering around her kitchen”. This farmer’s daughter turned Baxters of Speyside into a global brand and of his wife, her husband Gordon (1918 – 2013) often fondly commented: “Where’s Mrs Heinz? Collecting French Impressionists. Where’s Mrs Baxter? In the kitchen making soup!”
