The Duke of BavariaThe senior co-heir general of King Charles I of England and Scotland came to public attention during Scotland’s independence referendum in September 2014. The Duke of Bavaria has never married and lives in a wing of Nyphenburg Palace in Munich and Berg Castle in Upper Bavaria. A prisoner of the Nazis at Oranienburg and Dachau during the Second World War, Franz is a passionate modern art collector and speaks German, Hungarian, English and French. His 80th birthday party in 2013 was attended by 2,500 of his closest friends.
