The son of the former United States Ambassador to Denmark John L. Loeb, Jr., Nicholas Loeb is the founder of Loeb’s Onion Crunch. Despite a troubled childhood – which culminated with his mentally ill mother tragically killing her third husband and then herself – this “poor little rich boy” (as the New York Post once cruelly termed him) graduated from Tulane University and worked in both film and politics. A “Teddy Roosevelt Republican”, Loeb once remarked: “Growing up in today’s world everyone is married a million times”. This “trust funder” divorced his Swedish model wife in 2009 and subsequently found himself in a legal tryst with the Modern Family star Sofia Vergara over embryos created via in-vitro fertilization during their on-off relationship.

Cannot help but feel a bit sorry for this chap. Trouble is the legal papers were signed to say both parties had to be in agreement for the embryos to be planted. She wants nothing more to do with him and so no longer wishes the procedure to go ahead. An awful lot of fuss over some eggs! Thinking ahead, loads of time and money for impending court cases and bitterness.
