Her website adds more and explains this Barnard College, New York educated “uptown doyenne” is “well known for her unique, well-honed taste in the world of lifestyle: interior design, entertaining, and gardening”. In November 2015, she explained her thoughts on modern society to The New York Times and noted: “Manners are gone; elegance is gone… I haven’t seen a thank-you note in a long time. It’s very serious and ponderous and vulgar… [And equally, my daughter’s generation] don’t think they have as much fun or are as adventuresome as we were… People were on roller skates at parties in the ‘70’s. There was flamboyance and ingenuity”.
