Former Maidstone Grammar School for Boys pupil turned inventor Yasser Khattak was suspended from school 16 times and taught himself at home. As a teenager, Khattak made £20,000 by selling air fresheners to petrol stations and mp3 players to his school friends and aged 19, in 2014, raised £150,000 through the crowdfunding site Seedrs to fund the launch of his money saving reinvention of the light switch and plug socket. Could he be the next James Dyson?
UPDATE: As of April 2015, Mr Khattak has raised a total of over £290,000 via crowdfunding.
What a bright kid. He will go far.
