A racing suit and helmet worn by Steve McQueen in Le Mans is to be sold by RM Sotheby’s at their ‘Icons’ sale in New York on 6th December.
Directed by Lee H. Katzin and produced by Jack N. Reedish, the 106-minute the 1971 fictional Indie film cost some £5.8 million ($7.6 million, €6.5 million or درهم27.9 million) to make but surprisingly took just £4.2 million ($5.5 million, €4.7 million or درهم20.2 million) at the North American box office.
The suit will be offered with no reserve with an estimate of £303,000 to £380,000 ($400,000 to $500,000, €344,000 to €430,000 or درهم1.5 million to درهم1.8 million).
