England qualify for the 2015 FIP World Championships
From the snatches of an extremely close defeat and one whose umpiring decisions were questioned by even Claire Tomlinson, the chairman of the Beaufort Polo Club, the English team have unexpectedly found themselves headed to Chile for next year’s 2015 Federation of Intertnational Polo World Championships.
Hopes for England, captained by 40-year old Peter Webb, almost certainly looked to be dashed after their defeat by France on Sunday, but following Tuesday’s final qualifying match, everything changed. With France losing 7-6 against Ireland, England was put in first place and will thus play in Santiago next year.
All at The Steeple Times wish Webb and his teammates – Tommy Beresford, Will Emerson and George Pearson – the very best of British.
