The Steeple Times’ horse racing tips with an analysis of the top tipsters and their selections for the Ebor Festival
Japan was the horse of the moment yesterday at the Ebor Festival and on this, the second of four days of racing, we’re looking at yet another day of excitement at York.
Our tipping selection for Thursday follows:
Obvious Options
Today we’re looking at Sporting Life’s selection of a double on the Weld-Murphy combo Search For A Song (Guardian, Daily Telegraph, Radio 4, Sporting Life)at 5/2 at 4.15pm and the Gosden-Dettori pairing Enable (Sporting Life, The Times, Daily Telegraph, Guardian, Radio 4) at 2/9 at 3.35pm at York.
Darker Horses
Also interesting has to be:
2.25pm York –Fozzy Stack-Frankie Dettori combo Piece of Paradise at 9/1 (Radio 4).
Racing Post says: “Beaten only once in her 13 starts, with nine top-flight wins including two Arcs and now two King Georges following her gutsy triumph over Crystal Ocean last month when she had the widest draw and had to come from well off the pace; beat Magical in the Eclipse on reappearance time before and also on two occasions last season; easy winner of this race two years ago and it will be a shock if she cannot take it again.”
3.00pm York – Brian Meehan trained Petrus at 14/1 (Racing Post).
Racing Post says: “Good start to the campaign with two wins, including the Spring Mile at Doncaster; ran well in two of his three subsequent outings, placed in the Coral Challenge at Sandown latest; each-way possibilities.”
