Sacked League Against Cruel Sports employee Jordi Camamitjana is the personification of crazy for seeking to have “ethical veganism recognised as a protected philosophical belief”
Jordi Casamitjana believes in what he calls ‘T-shirting.’ He always wears clothes that feature vegan slogans, only dates fellow vegans and, according to The Times, “refuses to catch buses in case they accidentally squash insects.”
Next week, in Norwich, this zoologist – who bizarrely “refuses to visit zoos or aquariums” also – will take his former employer, the League Against Cruel Sports, to an employment tribunal. He claims they were “veganphobic” against him and has raised £15,000 of a £50,000 target to fund his action through crowdfunding.
In response, the equally batty League Against Cruel Sports are to argue that they sacked Casamitjana for misconduct. Frankly, it sounds like both the employee and the employer are as bad as one another; him and his boss should stop wasting money and simply get a room. Given he “does not wear leather, silk or wool” either, they’d have to check out the sheets very carefully first. Bonkers!
