The Duchess of Cornwall samples a gin and champagne cocktail named in her honour
Drinking on the job is commonly frowned upon but in trying a cocktail named in her honour this week, The Duchess of Cornwall provides our Picture of the Week.
In the image, The Duchess of Cornwall is pictured sampling a drink made with Irish Dingle Gin and elderflower liqueur that has been topped with Mumm champagne. It is served in a champagne flute with ice cubes made with Irish spring water infused with rosemary and orange.
The Duchess, whom the Mail Online don’t hesitate to describe as being “famous for her penchant for a tipple”, tried the drink whilst at the Taste of the Wild Atlantic Way Food Festival in Galway, Ireland on Thursday and of it remarked:
“That packs a bit of a punch! You’ll need to sip it slowly as it is deceptively strong. Delicious though!”
Slainte!

‘ Go for it Duchess; you have my vote ‘
I have always thought of her as the Duchess of Avis; the more mature amongst us should understand why*
