£8 million mansion with the only Cotswold drawn spring water comes to the market
They say: “Where there’s a well, there’s water” and whoever is prepared to part with some £8,000,000 could get an awful lot of that if they bought Alderley House at Alderley, near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire.
Standing on a plot of 26 acres, Grade II listed Alderley House is described by its selling agents Knight Frank as “the perfect country house”. The 19th century Lewis Vullimay designed mansion includes only around 24,000 square foot of accommodation, but also benefits from a sports hall, swimming pool, tennis court, floodlit riding school and practice polo ground.
If Only Fools and Horses’ Del Boy had won the £150 million EuroMillion jackpot last Friday and chose to splash out on Alderley House he could achieve what he failed to do with Peckham Spring Water as in 2010, a water diviner discovered natural spring water in the walled garden of the estate. In the time since, it has been bottled and marketed as Alderley Cotswold Natural Spring Water – the only Cotswold drawn bottled spring water on the market. It is described as being “high in calcium, low in sodium” on the website marketing it.
The equipment used to bottle the water is excluded from the sale price but is “available by separate negotiation” according to Knight Frank’s brochure. No money back, no guarantee.

Bonkers.
Never be THAT thirsty…………..!!!
Quite right too. I suppose the buyer was anonymous. He or she would’t want to be outed as a fool and give credence to the aphorism, a fool and his money are soon parted.
