The snakes and ladders of society A chronicle of drama, scandal and success in London, Paris, New York and elsewhere

Tarty Alexa

The Daily Mail’s reporting of Alexa Chung’s latest ‘launch’ was utterly cringeworthy; why is she considered to be newsworthy?

The Daily Mail just cannot help itself. For them, if Alexa Chung picked up a tea cup, it’d be international news.

Reporting on this model-presenter-and-just-about-everything-else-on-the-planet possible launching a range of sunglasses, the paper this time remarked on her “stylish figure” and how she “allowed her dress to do the talking.”

“British fashion icon” and “It girl” Chung commented on how her “reality” has been “warped” by her participation in the modelling industry and remarked on how she likes to make “emotional connection[s].” She spoke of her “#MeToo moment” and was pictured being kissed simultaneously on each cheek by both Pixie Geldoff and Jack Guinness.

Appropriately this “fashion genius” turned “fashion designer’s” plainly epic event was held in a restaurant named ‘Wild By Tart.’ You just couldn’t make it up.
