Further doubts raised about the conviction of Jeremy Bamber
Jeremy Bamber’s conviction for the 1985 murders of his adopted parents, his sister and her children at White House Farm, Tolleshunt D’Arcy, Essex is again in question. New evidence has surfaced in a book by Andrew Hunter, a former Conservative MP, that, if proven, would indeed quash the case against Bamber for once and for all.
The police have always argued that if, as Bamber has always maintained, his paranoid schizophrenic sister, Sheila Caffell, had indeed gone on the rampage, her feet would have been covered in blood. Now, with the publication of a previously unpublished image showing blood on one of Caffell’s feet along with additional evidence relating to scratches on a silencer that may or may not have been used that night, it does indeed seem that this conviction is indeed potentially unsafe.

Jeremy Bamber is the only full-term life prisoner who refuses to admit his guilt. This could, as some would argue, be simply indication that he is an arrogant man who knows he’ll never be freed but equally this could be one of the worst miscarriages of justice of modern times.
Furthermore, that no direct forensic evidence linked Bamber to the crime and that there was not a unanimous verdict in the case has “caused unease in legal circles for years”. On the basis of this and the latest evidence, it would seem, at the very least, that this case should again be reviewed.

He is clearly innocent. His sister was a loon of the first order and plainly did it. Police fixed him up.
The forensic evidence is against your theory
Pete: As an inquisitive sort, I’d suggest you read more into this. I have and there are so many strange things about this case. I’m not saying Jeremy Bamber is innocent but there are most definitely questions about the police’s contamination of evidence, the sister’s mental state, the ex-girlfriend who took £25,000 for an interview, the greedy uncle and aunt who’ve inherited everything, etc. Mr Bamber may indeed be guilty but this case needs a proper review.
I will do Matthew…and I agree there are certain inconsistencies. But I don’t think we should be swayed by his denials, on the basis that after a period of time most killers accept and admit their guilt. If he is the psychopath that people he says he is then lack of admission would be a normal behavioural facet. But, yes, lets have a proper review and re-test the evidence.
If he is ever cleared imagine the damages…£20 million?
I’ve looked into this case in depth for a possible tv programme. Initially I had an open mind but despite all the issues around contamination of evidence I’m now convinced that he is guilty as charged.
Everybody is innocent untill the prove is made and he’s guilty for the law
yes the low of innocent! But sometimes it is fucking hard!
I remain convinced of his guilt.
I believe that guilt is reserved for a jury of his peers to determine. Who are we to base a decision off of what is said in an article?
Innocent man who needs to be released. Essex Police should be forced to release photos, documents, statements which will secure an innocent verdict, We have all been duped by Essex Police and paid for it, The taxpayer deserves better!
